At 10,087 feet, Saddlebag Campground is the highest drivable campground in California. This high-country campground is within walking distance of Saddlebag Lake. Many of the campsites have fantastic views of the lake located below. The beautiful alpine lake is popular for fishing. Other than fishing, there are many great hikes in the area including the 20 Lakes Basin.

From US 395 at the CA 120 west junction just south of Lee Vining, take CA 120 toward Tioga Pass for approximately 9.9 miles. Turn right onto Saddlebag Lake Road and continue 2.5 miles. Turn right onto Saddlebag Campground Road. Check seasonal access before traveling. The final approach includes unpaved road.
