2026: Listed open by the Forest Service, with access restricted by Reds Meadow Road construction. Opening and closing depend on road and weather conditions. Check the current road access schedule before travel. A 2027 season has not been published.

Access notice: Reds Meadow Road has construction closures in 2026. Plan both arrival and departure around the official road-opening schedule. Overnight campground guests may qualify for the shuttle exception, but cannot use the road during closures.
From US 395, take CA 203 west through Mammoth Lakes, turn right onto Minaret Road to remain on CA 203, and continue past Mammoth Mountain Main Lodge toward Minaret Vista. Continue on Reds Meadow Road past the entrance station. From the entrance station, drive approximately 7.6 miles down Reds Meadow Road. Turn left onto Reds Meadow Campground Road and follow the camping loop signs.
